Here is what I made:
I used the stamp sets, Boo, and Hallo-scream, from the release the beginning of October. The colors and leaves in the Inspiration Photo seemed to scream fall, as do these stamp sets!
To begin, I stamped the big Boo from the stamp set and masked it off so I could stamp the pumpkins behind the Boo. Then I used my Molotow pens in 2mm and 4mm sizes to protect the images from the watercolor on the background.
For the background, I tried to match the colors in the photo with my Distress Inks and ended up using Scattered Straw, Ripe Persimmon, Barn Door, Aged Mahogany and Walnut Stain. I dried the background with my heat gun in between adding more color until I achieved the color saturation I was after.
Next I added drops and splatters of water and picked up the water with a paper towel. Some of the drops I left on longer than others to pick up more color. I also added individual, smaller drops of water to specific areas that I felt needed more interest.
After rubbing off the Molotow, I began coloring the images. I am not very comfortable with coloring images with watercolor, mostly because I don't enjoy watching paint dry. haha Having said that, I am learning to paint one area and while that is drying, move on to another image to color. It seems to work out much better this way.
To color the pumpkins, I used two Distress Inks: Spiced Marmalade and Ripe Persimmon.
I used a white gel pen to highlight the dots on the B and to add dots to the red O.
The bat is from the Hallo-scream stamp set.
The only thing left to do was add some sequins, the bat and Clear Wink of Stella and I was finished.
