Holiday Hugs!

Hello and Happy Tuesday!

For this Two for Tuesday challenge, Giorgia and I used the fox and deer from the stamp set, Deer FriendsI colored all of the images using various Copic markers.

For the sentiment, I used a partial sentiment, Holiday Hugs, from the stamp set, 'Tis The Season.

I also stamped three of the snowflakes that come in the adorable stamp set, Chilly, all over the card base using Soft Purple Shadow Ink and Unicorn White from Hero Arts.

For the background I used two Distress Inks, Dusty Concord and Seedless Preserves, to blend a fun background for Giorgia because it's one of her favorite colors! I drew snow on the panel with a white gel pen. The present is from,

Isn't this fox cute? For the snow on the ground, I used the Marvy Snow Pen to add some dimension.

For the panel, I used the middle die from Fancy Frame Dies. Behind the panel, I cut a piece of vellum to lay behind it.

After I adhered the vellum and the panel to the card base, I added some twine to the spine of the card and I was done.

Here is my project:

I used the stamp sets, The Great Outdoors and Deer Friends to create this scene.

To start, I used the largest die in the Fancy Frame Dies set to cut a panel out of Neenah Solar White 80 lb.

Next, I stamped the bear, fire and bunny with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and masked them off so I could work on the background with Distress Inks.

Then I heat embossed the sentiment by stamping in Versamark Ink, sprinkling with Gold Fine Detail Embossing Powder from Ranger and melting it with my heat tool.

To begin the background, I blended Chipped Sapphire, Salty Ocean and Black Soot for the sky. For the ground, I blended Peeled Paint, Forest Moss and Black Soot.

I colored the images using various Copic markers and I used Copic markers to add a little bit of shading under the chair and the rabbit.

I brushed Clear Wink of Stella over the fire and above the fire, I used a Wink of Stella Glitter pen in red to make red dots look like embers or sparks from the fire.

On the marshmallows, I brushed Clear Wink of Stella and added Glossy Accents over top.

After scribbling some trees in the background and adding stars with a white gel pen, I was finished with the panel and ready to add it to a card base. Since the sentiment says s'mores, I decided to have fun with it and layer the papers in s'mores fashion. Desert Storm, Solar White, Dark Chocolate and a Desert Storm card base.

CDD October Release

Welcome to the CDD Stamp & Die Release Blog Hop.
All stamps & Dies are in the CDD Shop and now available for purchase.

Here's what I've created for you...

For my second card using the Chilly stamp set, I decided to make a shaker using the hat and snowflakes.

I love to knit so I was excited to see this hat! I used a smaller die from the Fancy Frame Dies set to cut out a piece of Neenah Solar White and stamped the hat with Memento Tuxedo Black. The hat was colored with various Copic markers. I brushed Clear Wink of Stella over the red areas on the hat. To add a small border, I used a Sakura Stardust Glitter Pen.

I used another die from the Fancy Frame Dies to cut the shaker window.

For the background of the shaker, I pulled out some papers from Pink Fresh Studio and stamped several of the snowflakes from the stamp set on the paper using Hero Arts Unicorn White. I wanted to use the sentiment, Warmest Wishes, and a snowflake on the acetate so I used Stazon Opaque White so it would stay put.

To finish the card, I added some Merry Mix and Snow Palace sequins and tied some red and white twine around the lower half of the card and I was done!

A Halloween Hello!

Hello and Happy Thursday!

Today I'm sharing a Halloween card using Witch Way is the Candy? from My Favorite Things. This is a stamp set I received last year and all I did was color the images. I thought since it's that time again I would make an actual card!

To start, I wanted to create a background using the oh-so fun ink smooshing technique. Using my Gansai Tambi watercolors, I used a paintbrush to pick up the color and made a small watercolor puddle on my craft sheet. Next, I used a stamp envelope to pick up the color and place and smoosh it onto the watercolor cardstock. I repeated this until I liked my background. This sheet of cardstock was 5x7 so I cut it down to a quarter inch smaller than an A2 size.

To prepare a shaker window, I used two Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle dies. I used Tombo Extreme Adhesive to adhere the acetate to the window and adhere the watercolor panel to the card base.

For the sequins, I used Jack-o'-Lantern and Trick or Treat from Little Things from Lucy's Cards. I also added a couple of black cat sequins from the Spellbound sequin pack. These sequin packs have so much included that I wanted to dump the whole bag into the shaker area! haha

I chose the sentiment, A Halloween Hello. I die cut a banner and cut it down so it was small enough to fit in the corner. Then I heat embossed the sentiment using Versamark ink and Hero Arts White embossing powder.

Next I die cut a few spiders out of black cardstock using the Scary Spiders from Memorybox. I am absolutely terrified of spiders so why I have this die in my possession is a mystery. I kept checking to make sure I had the paper spiders and I wasn't accidentally picking up a real spider! Oh, the joys of living in Colorado.

The only thing left was to add the images I colored last year. I wanted to make it look like the frog and cat were just as worried about the spiders as I would be if such a thing was happening. They look sufficiently worried about the spiders and I am satisfied. Now to mail this out as soon as possible!

Thank you for stopping by and have a beautiful day!

CDD October New Release Sneak Peek - Chilly

Hello and Happy Tuesday!

Yesterday was Day 2 of the sneak peeks for the October stamp release at Craftin Desert Divas!

We have 4 new stamp sets for this release and 2 new die sets designed by our own design team member, Leah!

I am showcasing the stamp set, Chilly.

I have created a card using the walrus, ice and the new Mini Banner Die.

To begin, I stamped the walrus on Neenah Solar White and masked it before I stamped the ice to make it look like the walrus is sitting on top. Next, I fussy cut the walrus and the ice and colored them with various Copic markers. To give the walrus some texture, I added colorless blender to a rag and pounced the rag on the walrus a few times.

To make the layers for the card, I used several dies from the Fancy Frame Dies

I used the sentiment, You melt my heart. I cut a strip of vellum and heat embossed the sentiment using Versamark ink and Hero Arts white embossing powder.

For the water, I blended Mermaid Lagoon and Tumbled Glass Distress Ink into the background. After that, I adhered the walrus and ice with foam tape and adhered the vellum on the back of the panel.

For the upper half of the panel, I stamped several of the snowflakes with Sea Glass ink. I stamped the heart with Raspberry Jam shadow ink and colored it in with Copics, adding Clear Wink of Stella and Glossy Accents over the top.

I die cut a piece of patterned paper with the new Mini Banner Die and adhered it to the panel. It's such a fun die!

After that, I added Snow Palace sequins, adhered the panels and I was finished!
